  Rusty is a 4 1/2 year old Beagle ( with a small amount of Collie ). He's vaccinated , house-trained and neutered.

  This is one smart and energetic dog. He has been well trained but he is very confident , strong-willed and stubborn and will only behave if he respects you. He thus needs an equally strong-willed owner who will provide him with discipline and keep him well-exercised and busy ; boredom otherwise soon sets in and Rusty becomes difficult to control.

  Rusty is friendly with everyone but can be a bit too excitable around small children. He likes to play with other dogs but , in his enthusiasm , doesn't always recognise that the other dog might not want to join him ! This can sometimes lead to a slight altercation.

  When on his best behaviour , Rusty will walk to heel on or off lead , come back immediately when called , sit , down , stay etc. and generally do what he's told. He won't do any of these things , however , if his situation isn't to his liking ! He's fine to be left alone for a few hours occasionally and he likes travelling in a car.

  Whoever takes on the task of keeping this beautiful dog happy will find him a most loyal and loving close friend.
