ANIMAL CONCERN CUMBRIA
WEST BRANCH
For over the past 25 years Animal Concern West Cumbria has been caring for, and rehoming dogs from the allotment site at Dunmail Park, WorkingtonThis site is gratefully rented from Workington Town CouncilDuring this time thousands of dogs have been successfully re-homedThe charity relies upon volunteers who, 365 days a year, at least twice a day,
care for, feed and walk dogs through rain, wind, sleet, snow and sunshine These volunteers, without mains electricity, have to start up the generator at night, wash down kennels even when the outside tap is frozen and work by torchlight to change bedding etcIn 2004 a lady called Mary Irwin from Keswick willed money to be used to create an animal sanctuary for Cumbria
